Custom Builds Upgrades and Accessories
Thoughtful performance, suspension, recovery, lighting and appearance upgrades installed for real world use
The best custom work is not just about adding parts. It is about choosing components that fit the vehicle, work together and match the way the owner actually plans to use it. Gearheads Garage installs selected performance systems, suspension components, bumpers, winches, lighting and accessories for cars, trucks, boats, powersports equipment, RVs and trailers in Wasilla.
EFI and Performance Upgrades
We install and troubleshoot selected electronic fuel-injection and performance systems, including Holley Sniper EFI applications. A successful EFI conversion requires more than mounting a throttle body. Fuel supply, return routing, ignition control, electrical power, grounding, sensor placement and setup all affect how the system performs. We look at the entire combination and can help diagnose hard starting, idle concerns, fuel-delivery problems, sensor faults and drivability issues on compatible systems.
Lift Lowering and Suspension Components
Suspension changes affect steering, alignment, ride quality, tire clearance, driveline angles and component life. We install selected lift and lowering kits, shocks, struts, springs, control arms, steering components and related hardware. Before the work begins, we review the intended stance and use of the vehicle so the parts make sense together. Customers should understand that some combinations may require additional supporting parts, alignment work or changes to wheel and tire fitment.
Bumpers Winches and Recovery Equipment
For Alaska trucks, SUVs and powersports machines, recovery equipment needs to be functional and securely installed. We install compatible bumpers, winches, recovery points, steps and related accessories. Proper mounting, cable routing, electrical protection and access for service all matter. We can also discuss battery and charging-system demands when adding a high-current winch or several electrical accessories.
Lighting and 12 Volt Accessories
We install selected light bars, work lights, auxiliary driving lights, switches, relays, cameras, gauges, heated accessories and other 12-volt equipment. Clean wiring is a major part of a quality installation. Circuits should be protected, connections should be secure and weather-resistant, and wiring should be routed away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts. The goal is an installation that looks intentional and remains serviceable later.
Wheels Tires Towing and Practical Upgrades
Customization can also improve how a vehicle or trailer works. Depending on the application, we can help with wheels and tires, towing accessories, trailer-brake components, steps, protective equipment, battery upgrades and other practical additions. We consider load ratings, clearance, electrical capacity and compatibility rather than selecting parts by appearance alone.
Plan the Build Before Buying Parts
Online listings often promise universal fitment, but custom projects can require additional parts, fabrication or changes that are not obvious at first. Contacting the shop before ordering gives us a chance to review the application and identify likely conflicts. Customer-supplied parts may be considered, but fitment, completeness, quality and warranty responsibility should be discussed in advance.
Built for the Owner
Gearheads Garage is a locally owned Wasilla shop serving the Mat-Su Valley. Whether the goal is better trail capability, improved towing, a cleaner classic-car fuel system or useful lighting for winter work, we approach the project around the owner's priorities and budget.
